Names

I've discovered today whilest sitting in Ethan's classroom that while here on Earth we have many different names. The first one of course being the name that your parents gave you. That lasts a little bit or at least until you recive a nickname wherein the name that your parents gave you is only used by your parents when you are in trouble, unless your in lots of trouble, then you get to have everyone around you learn your entire name! We all know that your middle name is used pretty much to let you know what kind of trouble your in.

Next your name is consistant with that of someone, ie girlfriend or boyfriend. This, my friend, can last a very long time! Especially considering that some people in this life have opted not to get married. So you are known as for example 'Aaron's girlfriend'. Of course after marriage that changes to 'Aaron's Wife' or in my house I am known as Queen. This is because I've told them I am the Queen. (Although the children to tend to tell me I am not a Queen, but a mommy.) The question after that is always what do you do? Before I had children I had a job, but now I tell people that I am a Trophy Wife. My husband would not be where he is today without me. Nope he would not have 3 children and a mortgage without me. (Well okay maybe he would, but it's more fun with me!)

After the children come your name has changed again....to mommy, mama, mother, or whatever the children call you. This is one of the best names you can have! Also it is one name that sometimes gets on your nerves. When a child won't leave you alone and is constantly saying over and over, mommomomomomomomomomomomomomom. You start to wish that you had an answering machine so that you could have them leave a message. (I've tried saying that mom isn't here right now, just leave a message, but it doesn't work. They are smarter than I thought!) To my childrens friend's I am Ethan's mom, or Andrew's mom, and someday I will be known as Isaac's mom. Do your childrens friends ever really learn your name......I'm not sure about it, but I guess I will find out eventually. When you help in a childs classroom once you step though a school door you are known as Teacher. I now know why my Jr high and High school teachers hated it when someone called them teacher!

My mother now has a new name. She has had it for almost 7 years, yep that is grandma. Although she dispises her name being grandma so much that the kids call her JaJa. We don't know where this came from, but one day Ethan just started calling her that and it stuck!

So we go through life with many names, some we like, some we hate. In all the names that we go through I figure the hardest part can be remembering who we are at that moment. I hope that I can know who I am always, or have the ablity to find out!
