My Trip to the Bahamas! Day 1

So for the past 9 years Aaron and I celebrated our anniversary with a variety of things. One year (when I was very pregnant with Andrew) we did something that was 'alot' of fun.....a ride in the car. We have also gathered together as many coupons as we could for an out to dinner date. On that one we ended up paying only $10 for dinner at a restaurant! Well, for our 10th anniversary we wanted to do something tremendous! I had been telling Aaron since October that we should plan something. He would look at me with the look like, 'I know'. Nothing got planned. Finally around April Aaron decided that we should plan a cruise! I thought, 'what'? Well we planned one. Aaron had a bunch of air miles so we only ended up paying $300 for both of us to fly to Miami and back. I think the cruise cost about $1300 or so for a 5 day with an inside cabin that was a bit bigger than the smallest one. I got real excited for the trip, since this was the biggest trip that Aaron and I have ever gone on! The days ticked by, we had 2 birthday parties, started getting ready for school, (both me and the boys). We had days where Aaron had to work late and days where I worked late in the garden. All in all it was a busy summer. Finally the Sunday came where we were leaving. We went to our 9 o'clock church meetings and then came home to pack. We dropped off the boys with the grandmas and my brother took us to the airport. We were there for a while since our flight didn't leave until 12:50 am. I found out that airports and planes are cold, and I had forgotten a sweater! I was cold all night. Finally we made it to Miami. I was still chilly and then we walked outside to get a taxi. I wasn't cold anymore. Miami is hot and humid. We made it to the ship and got all checked in. We got on the boat and discovered that we were starving. They had a buffet (that they had everyday) and we ate it up. After we ate we felt tired and dirty. We were hoping to go to our room but they told us that we couldn't go in until 2pm. It was only 12:30. I was tired and ornery. I really tried hard not to be so.These are the pools that were on the deck. We didn't go in them because we figured we were going in the ocean! Why go in a pool when the ocean is so much better!?
We finally made it into our room and took a nap! I felt much better afterwards. We got cleaned up and took a walk around the ship. I think this was the point I decided that people are crazy! We had made a reservation at the french resturant for dinner. I was terribly excited. Guess what?! Turns out I LOVE french food! I even ate es cargo! The whole meal was wonderful! We had told them that we were on our 10th anniversary and so they brought us a cake and 'sang' to us. None of them spoke english very well, so picture the movie 'A Christmas Story', where they are in the chinese resturant and the waiters are singing to them. Although these waiters were not from China it still sounded the same. It was so hard not to laugh during, then one of the women waiters said, 'he has a real good voice huh?' as she pointed to one of the guys. We just grinned and said ya! We finished up the day watching a movie and hanging out. It was an adventerous first day!
