Now I am on to our trip day 4. This was the day we went to the cruise lines private island. It was located withing a group of islands called the Berry Islands. The one we were at was Stir-up Cay. The day started with Aaron and I eating a fancy breakfast at one of the sit-down free restaurants. The food was good, but what I was doing was watching the people at the table next to us. They were 2 mothers and their special needs daughters. These girls were mentally handicapped and were very sweet. I kept thinking about what a fun trip they must be on. After breakfast we headed out onto the ferry to take us to the island. There is no pier so we anchored about 2 miles or so away. We were on the second ferry to the island, so we were able to get some good beach chairs.

This was the view from our chairs. Gorgeous right? We started out the day by lathering ourselves up with sunscreen. Legs, arms, face, shoulders and everywhere else that was showing. We took a walk around the little area we were in and found a grave. This captain of a ship had died and was buried about 18 something. They renewed his grave with cement about 1979. It was the only history we could find on the island. The people that live on this island are all acually employees of the cruise line. They work at the straw market and take some care of the island. They get a free place to live and 3 square meals a day. I guess some people take what they can get. It did look like they were doing some construction for some new things on the island, so I hope these people get a good paycheck as well. The people on this island were also very friendly, they also want to talk to everyone. At this island I was almost expecting a kind of outhouse for the bathroom, but they had flushies! One time while Aaron was using the bathroom I found a hammock to sit in and wait. Well this particular hammock was stretched out funny and I sat in it wrong. To get out of it I had to flip upside down onto the sad. It looked like I fell out of if I'm sure, and whoever watched it probably got a good laugh, but I made it out with not really any embarrassment. I told Aaron about it when he came out of the bathroom and HE laughed at me. There was a slide called the Hippo Slide. It was one of those giant inflatable slide you see at big events with kids. This one accommodated everyone, not just kids. It was about 40 ft tall and I can't remember how long it was, but we went down it a bunch. Aaron in fact made friends with some little boys by helping them go faster and further on the slide! We did do one excursion this day, we went on an eco tour. We got on this little boat that had enough room for about 30 people. As we were driving around the island to where the wildlife was we found out that some people had decided to be naked. It was only about 4 people and only the men were naked. Lucky for us we were about a 1/4 mile away, so nothing horrid was seen! We continued to drive to where we were going and we found a shark! There are no pictures because you would not know what it was from the picture. The shark didn't like the boat and kept swimming away from it!

The water was so clear! This under the water is Turtle Grass. Lots of things live in it. We saw tons of conch shells. To take a living conch out of the country can get you 4 years in prison! Crazy.

This is a sting-ray. I know it's hard to see, but that's what it is. Your not allowed to swim with these because they can sting you. It is cool to be able to see these animals in their natural habitat.

These starfish are some that our guide picked out of the ocean while we were floating in the boat. Aaron is holding the female and I am holding the male. They are really soft in the water, but when they are brought out the become hard. These were really thick as well.

They put the starfish back in the ocean and it floats until it feels safe, then it absorbs the water and sinks. I really like this picture, it just so pretty.

Aaron also tried to 'fight' a crab while on the boat. Ok so he didn't try to fight it, but everyone were doing all these boring poses with the crab, so Aaron thought up something much funnier. There were no rubber bands on the crabs pinchers, so Aaron could have lost! After the eco tour we went and had some lunch. It was so hot out that you would think they would not be serving beef, but they were! We got a bunch of fruit and water to make up for all the salt we were getting. We had been playing in the ocean earlier that day and Aaron had had some fish attack him! So it wasn't all that scary, but he had to swim quite a bit away before the fish would leave his feet alone. I do not attract fish, so no 'harm' came to me, Although I can find every pointy rock or hole in a rock! The only way to cool off this day was in the ocean! It was very hot. Around 2 we decided that we had baked enough for the day, and got back on the ferry to go back to the ship. The sun had wore me out to the point that When we got back I crashed. Come to find out that putting sunscreen on 3 times in between the hours of 9:30-2:00 was not enough and we still got burned. Later on that night we had reservations at the steak house restaurant. We ordered the appetizers and with all the sun we got that morning, we were almost full! When the steaks came they were soo good and tender! But alas we could not finish them and the waitress was disappointed with us! This post has gone on for a bit, and there is still more of this day to tell. I will have to continue it soon!
