Family Life

I haven't posted for a bit so I thought that I would let you all know some family happenings. I started school this year. I haven't been in school since high school, so this is kinda different for me. I know people wonder why I didn't start earlier and the reasons are these. When Aaron and I were first married I started to get signed up for school and the found out that I was pregnant with Ethan. Before I had found this out we were also going to move to Florida for Aaron to go to school. We had this all planned and then Ethan appeared. Ethan saved us over $30000 in school fees plus another $2000 in books and also how ever much it would have cost to live and move there. Aaron decided to finish school here and so he signed up for the next semester at SLCC. Aaron went to SLCC for quite a few years before transferring to Weber. Last May he graduated with a Bachelors in Computer Science. He went to school at night so that he could still work full time. The job he had required TONS of his time so we didn't see him a whole lot. If I had gone to school at the same time, then we would have NEVER seen eachother and I would have had to put the kids in daycare. I realize that waiting 12 years is a long time to wait before going to school, but it was worth it to us. I am having a hard time doing 9 credit hours, keeping up with laundry and baking things I like to bake. I have decided to only take about 6 hours next semester so that I can still do the things I need to here. There really isn't any reason for me to rush through school, so I may as well take my time and balance my life better. I am thinking of going into Mortuary Science and I know that alot of people think I'm strange, but that's true!
Aaron has been working at the air force base and taking full advantage of the gym there. Apparently it's an awesome gym. If we lived within 20 miles of the base, I could go to it to. Maybe we'll get a house in that vicinity. (yep we are still trying to sell our house.)
Ethan started 3rd grade this year. He is in a 3rd/4th grade split. He has a man for a teacher and he really seems to be enjoying it! His only problem he's having is his spelling words. We worked out a system where he has to write them out everyday with his homework. We also have a white board where we write his words down on Monday so he can see the words everytime he's in the kitchen. His friend from birth Lil' Livy also started at his school this year. They love being able to see eachother everyday and look forward to the days that they get to walk to our house together.
Andrew just started kindergarten. We held him back a year because he was born mid August and also because he is quite small for his age. He is in all day kindergarten which is really helpful to me. I can go to school while he is in school! He is loving kindergarten! He has tons of papers everyday, and now he is so excited to be able to ride his scooter to and from school everyday!
Isaac is funny and he knows it. He even tells himself jokes! No one else can understand them, but he thinks they are funny. He is the most kissy baby I've had! He gives kisses to most everyone he knows. He eats more than Andrew! And between them there is only a 10lb difference. We are really trying to get Andrew to eat more, but it's taking some work.
Aaron is now a leader over the Venture Scouts. So far there hasn't been much that he has been able to do with them, since the boys that age don't like to do things in this area, I guess. I have no calling! I think it's because when they asked me where I would like to be I told them that I did not want to be in a calling where I am over my own children. I know they are better when I am not around. I seem to only get called to either the primary or Relief society chorister. I guess they think I can't do anything else, but they've never given me a chance for anything else!
We are FINALLY getting rid of the blue civic! You all know the one that was rolled in June of '09. We had to keep it until it was paid off. We also had to have full coverage insurance on it during then too! Now we are paying less in insurance and have 1 less car payment!
I have a veggie garden this year. It's my first real garden that I've ever grown. I think I've done pretty well. I have lots of different veggies and have harvested lots too! I have alot of pumpkin plants, but only 3 HUGE pumpkins. Others keep trying to grow, but don't survive. I think the 3 huge ones are sucking all the nutrients from everything else that tries to grow. At least I have 3! We'll carve one and then freeze the others. I have 6 loaves of zucchini bread in the freezer, I think. If not I have enough zucchini to make more. I am giving those to neighbors for Christmas treats I think.
That is the end of the update for now. If you would like more, then let me know.

I think that's fantastic that you're going to school. I wish I had time to go to school, but my job and fitness lifestyle doesn't allow me time to go to school.

Sounds like you and your family lead a VERY busy life, but it sounds like a wonderful life. :)
