Thanksgiving this year was fun and stressful! It started in June. This is the month I planted the pumpkins in my yard! I've never planted a garden before and was really pleased with how well I did! We grew 3 50lb pumpkins! I had 3 or 4 pumpkin plants, but these 3 just sucked all the nutrients from the others. We carved one pumpkin for Halloween and saved the others for food. My mother-in-law has a vita mix and it works wonderfully! We didn't even get one pumkin done before I had so much pumpkin I didn't know what to do (there's a bunch in my freezer). So on Wed before Thanksgiving I made 2 pumpkin pies and 1 apple pie, all from scratch (crust too). I also went crazy and decided to make chocolates. Everybody was impressed that I had made all the pies from scratch. My aunts even wondered how I did the pumpkin.
We went to my Aunt Kathleens house for dinner, and of course it was wonderful! Ann made her rolls and with 2 turkeys, tons of mashed potatoes, and LOTS of dessert it was really good! Even Andrew ate! We went to my brother's house after dinner and watched the movie the Prince of Persia. I can say I am glad I didn't buy that movie!
Friday we took the 2 older boys to see Harry Potter. Even though it was a very long movie for them I still think they enjoyed it. Andrew was getting antsy by the time the ending came around. 2 1/2 hours is a long time for a 6 yr old to stay in one spot, but he did really well! Isaac didn't get to go, since it was so long. He got to play with Zsa Zsa. On Saturday we just ran a bunch of errands. Fun time in the car since everyone fell asleep! Sometimes it seems that's the only time they all take a nap.
This past weekend I really enjoyed (even with the stress). Aaron had come home early on Tues because of the 'BLIZZARD OF 2010'! Since the temp had dropped so fast that night we decided that the commute from our house to his work would be dangerous and full of ice, so he stayed home. That day we went to Andrew's program (pics later) where he had a part. He got to hold a S and say 'S is for silverware, set in a row.' He did such a good job! He even sang every song with the actions. A couple times he tried to do his own actions! Thursday was Thanksgiving, the Aaron didn't have to work on Fri. It was kinda hard yesterday when he went back to work! Oh well, we have so many things this December that hopefully we'll get to Christmas fast!
