I realize that in some of my past blogs I have seemed very 'cup half empty'. I really haven't meant to be like that, it's just that when I feel like writing is when I am in a bad mood. It really helps to alleviate things when I do so. I decided today that I should report some of the happy goings on here.
Isaac is beginning to say a whole lot more words. He talks all the time, we just are beginning to understand more. Whenever he sees a cat, he does call it a kitty, then he laughs hysterically! Cats are apparently very funny. He loves flowers and talks about them whenever he sees them. He loves dogs, but calls them all Zoey (which is the name of our dog). Of course he can say mom and dad, but usually he just calls us when he wants us to say his name. He calls himself Ikie. He saw a picture of a 2 yr old on the tv, pointed and started saying his name. He was so happy to see 'himself' on the tv. He is very much a boy and loves playing in dirt. Since I have a veggie garden this year he has had a big opportunity to play in lots of dirt. He loves his brothers, and loves to wrestle with them. They are usually very good when he wrestles with them, and he doesn't usually get hurt.
Andrew is very excited about starting kindergarten in August. Even though he will be the oldest in the class, he will be nowhere near the tallest. Closer to the shortest I'm afraid. At his last Dr's appoint he was in the 1st percentile. I keep wondering when his growths-pert will happen. I wonder if he will one day be taller than Ethan. It's possible. He is counting down the days until his birthday. He wants anything Toy Story. We stopped at Wal-mart the other day and found a whole isle devoted to the Toy Story toys. Needless to say we had to spend quite a few minutes looking at everything. I am planning to throw him a small party for his birthday, but there are not alot of boys his age here. We'll see what happens. He is a big helper around the house and outside, mostly only when Ethan is not here. He wants to help me weed, but so far has only been able to pick some veggies. He also likes to pick flowers, so when my cucumbers blossemed, we had to have the talk about not picking the flowers that are in the garden, and also not picking the veggies when they grow. He is also one of the strongest 5 yr olds I've seen! He can do 7 chin-ups and when he is bored will turn on some P90X and do almost the whole video!
Ethan had a harder start to the summer than the other boys. He told Aaron and I the other week that he wishes he had made the decision to be an only child. We laughed and said that is wasn't his choice! He said he needed a break from Andrew, and we needed a break from him, so he went to my mom and dad's for a weekend. Bappa took him fishing, although they didn't catch anything, he said he had fun! I think he would have liked to stay another few days. He has tried to keep up on his reading, but playing outside with friends is much more fun. He is getting excited for 3rd grade! On his report card he received something that Aaron and I never thought he would get.......an H for citizenship!!! The way he talks and hasn't figured out how to whisper, we thought he would only get as good as an S! We were so proud of him! Of course he got wonderful grades in everything else as well. He got a math award, which if you know Ethan you know that he is very good at math. (Alot like his dad there, thank goodness!)
As for Aaron and I we have been doing fine. I have started getting ready to go back to school. Aaron has been helping me by reviewing my math. It's amazing how much you forget! I have been doing Turbo Jam with my friend Jill since Feb. (she started a bit before me) I have lost 10lbs now and she has lost about 30lbs I think. We can just about wear the same size! I finally got my mom doing some Turbo Jam! I think she will really like it once she gets past the really sore part! Aaron is working and pursuing a new job. He doesn't like to sit in one space. If he can move up in position, he will. He has been going to the gym everyday after work for a week and a half now. He is really liking it. He comes home in a better mood. We are planning a great trip for our 10th anniversary this August. I am so excited!
Well that's us so far.
