Pen and Paper
Sometimes I just feel like I should start writing. Not typing on the computer, but really writing. Using a pen and paper. How many of us send letters anymore? E-mails I'm sure we are all fluent in. I thought that I would like to write someone a letter, but who? And what would I say? Using a pen and paper to jot down a quick note, or to say hello has almost become unheard of! I'm beginning to believe that it is a lost art. To feel the pen, full of ink, glide across the paper. Sometimes it can feel so wonderful just to write with your hands instead of type with your fingers. What you type on the computer can go everywhere. All over the globe, to places we have never heard of or seen. As soon as we save things we write on the computer they leave for a world wide trip. Eventually we forget that we wrote anything at all. When we write things with a pen and paper they don't travel the world unless we send them places. People we don't know won't see what we were thinking of at that moment. Things we write with pen and paper get put away. Sometimes we forget where things are, or just don't have the time to look and remember. But things we write with pen and paper find their way back into the hands of us or someone we love. They can be forgotten about for years, yellowed with age, and still someone will find them, read it, and have it touch them, again or for the first time. I hope I never lose the urge to write with pen and paper. There is no substitute for the feeling it brings.
